Star Light Santa:
Jill Zaperach

Tradition of the Star:

"The star symbolizes that great light which led the wise men to the Christ child so many years ago. Throughout much of the world, the Christian holiday begins with the appearance of the first star on Christmas Eve. The star also symbolizes hope for peace and good fortune and demonstrates the fact that all people, regardless of their nationality, share the same universe."

The velvet-like robe of this beautiful Victorian Santa is a combination of soft sage green, blue, gray and mauve, with a glittery gold gown. Santa's collar has a decorative fringed trim and encircling Santa's head is a light tan fox trimmed hood. Santa gazes at a mauve electric powered star and in his other hand he holds gold berries with tiny bells and frosted pine. Soft brown rabbit fur surrounds the bottom of Santa's robe. A tasseled ornament and a tiny beaded bag hang from Santa's braided belt. The tradition of the Star is included. Overall height 30".

Purchased in 2002.
